Variac Voltage

All Variac Voltage begins with the variac itself, which is basically a variable transformer offering adjustable, alternating, current. With Variac Voltage, only the output voltage is adjustable, however.

Variacs are designed in such a way that they will yield a higher Variac Voltage on output rather than input voltage. Voltage is divided into two parts by the impedance between the inputs. Impedance here relates to not only the amplitudes of the voltage and current, but also the relative phases. Output voltage is then determined by the fractions of the divided impedance connected to the output.
